Four rules worth keeping

Players who stay in control tend to follow the same few habits. They cost nothing and they work.

• Decide what you can lose before you deposit, and stop when it is gone.
• Set a time limit as well as a money limit — hours slip away faster than a balance does.
• Never chase a loss. Doubling a stake to get even is how a bad night becomes a bad month.
• Do not gamble to escape stress, boredom or debt, and never while drunk or on borrowed money.

Signs it has stopped being a game

Any one of these on its own is worth a pause. Two or more, and it is time to use the tools below.

• You are staking more than you planned, or more often, to feel the same thing.
• You borrow, sell or dip into money meant for rent, school fees or food.
• You hide how much you play, or lie about it to people close to you.
• You keep playing to win back losses, and feel restless or irritable when you stop.
• Work, sleep, family or friendships are slipping because of the time you spend playing.

Deposit limits

A deposit limit caps what you can pay in over a day, a week or a month, no matter how you feel later that night. Message support with the amount and the period and we will apply it to your account. A lower limit takes effect immediately; a higher one only takes effect 24 hours after you ask, and we will confirm it with you first — the delay is deliberate, and we will not waive it.

Taking a break and self-exclusion

You can lock yourself out from Profile → Take a break, for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 6 months or permanently. The lock starts the moment you confirm it. While it runs you cannot log in, deposit or place a bet, and it cannot be lifted early — not by you, and not by support, however you ask. Any balance stays yours: contact support and we will pay it out to your registered M-Pesa number. A permanent exclusion closes the account for good, and we will not open a new one for you.

18+ only

You must be 18 or older to hold a Betbora account, and it must be yours alone. We verify age and identity and will close any account that fails, returning real-money deposits and voiding any bonus and winnings from it. If someone under 18 uses your phone, lock the device, keep your password to yourself, and consider filtering software such as Gamban, GamBlock or Net Nanny, which blocks gambling sites and apps across the whole device.
